Creating Homes / Changing Lives

This complex mixed-use high-rise residential apartment scheme will deliver 122 dwellings for our client Network Homes.

The 19-storey main residential tower will provide a landmark building which terraces down in scale to form two smaller blocks of apartments with associated parking and community gardens. The scheme contains one, two and three-bedroom apartments to meet the housing needs of the area.

The challenge and solution

Much tenacity and guile were needed to address technical and procedural challenges. The site is highly constrained requiring multiple logistical matters to be considered and overcome which we successfully brainstormed with our contracting partner to unlock the buildability of the site.

Delivering sustainability and social value

Biodiversity

Residents benefit from a thoughtfully landscaped courtyard garden laid upon a central podium deck with parking beneath. This amenity areas have been carefully designed to contain planting to enhance biodiversity while creating a tranquil zone for people to relax and enjoy the ambience.

Sustainability

The site was a former car park situated in a town centre location. The re-use of brownfield land to create new energy-efficient, sustainable dwellings close to existing transport links is a strong part of V10’s agenda to overcome the housing shortage in London.

Additional affordable

Situated at the end of The Northern Line, the Zone 5 project was procured for our client based on all units being made available for shared ownership, allowing aspiring purchasers to buy with minimal deposits.
