Creating Homes / Changing Lives

This large-scale development, situated in a country setting just inland from the Essex coastline, will deliver 132 homes for our client Home Group.

The family-led scheme incorporates a mix of quality sustainable homes consisting of one, two, three and four-bedroom properties across various tenures. The development is thoughtfully designed and configured around a vast expanse of abundant green spaces.

The challenge and solution

We successfully unlocked another sustainable community by closing out any residual risks from a build and technical perspective, optimising the scheme and working closely with Home Group to ensure they inherited a completely de-risked and fixed build price contract at the point of acquisition.

Delivering sustainability and social value

Biodiversity

The generously proportioned landscaped areas have been carefully planned to maximise the opportunity to create wildlife habitats and enhanced planting zones. Trees and boundary hedging have been retained and enhanced further to bolster bird and bat life and accentuate the natural environment for wildlife to exist.

Wellbeing

The green spaces have been thoughtfully laid out to provide planting, seating and walkways to engender a sense of wellbeing and a space for residents to relax, exercise and enjoy. Our partner contractor is based in Essex and this will benefit the local economy as it intends to use trades and suppliers from the area.

Additional affordable

The scheme contains a mix of tenures tailored thoughtfully by Home Group to meet local housing needs and geared towards affordability. All these objectives align with V10’s social values in creating opportunities for people to be able to afford a new energy-efficient, sustainable home.
