Revitalising a neglected part of Hackney.

Rosina Street
Rosina Street, Homerton

A magnificent scheme of truly affordable homes, well worth the wait. A symbol of true persistence paying off which has now been delivered by Pocket Living.

Located very close to Homerton train station the development of this former nightclub, along with other nearby developments, enabled a dilapidated part of Hackney to be revitalised.

After renegotiating the land deal three times and ushering through three planning applications over a two and half year period, the construction of affordable homes by Pocket Living began. In the process the landowner’s original consent for 14 apartments was transformed into a scheme of 37 apartments. This benefited everyone involved, especially the extra people who were eventually housed.

The project encountered other challenges too, particularly around vacant possession. With perseverance, completion was obtained. Without the continued drive, week by week over almost three years by Karl Timberlake the project would have floundered and most likely have been lost. The land was sourced by V10’s sister company Terra Firma Land.
